The SBIR Road Tour is a national outreach effort to convey the non-dilutive technology funding opportunity provided through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. The SBIR/STTR programs annually provide $2.5 billion in funding to small advanced technology firms to spur new technological discoveries and facilitate the commercialization of innovations. Together they represent America's Largest Seed Fund.

Columbus is one of five Road Tour stops in the month of June.

Ohio State’s College of Engineering, Corporate Engagement Office, The Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence and Rev1 Ventures have partnered with the SBA on this event. Throughout the day, attendees will learn:

  • how to access local and state resources available to innovators, researchers and technology entrepreneurs;
  • priorities for SBIR agencies’ funding;
  • the do’s and don’ts of a successful funding proposal; and
  • how to best utilize local funding resources to improve likelihood of success.
