Whether pursuing a MS or PhD, when you apply to the College of Engineering, you choose a path of innovation and leadership in the fields of engineering or architecture. You choose to be an active participant in advancing research—research that affects your neighborhood, your community, your country and people around the globe. You choose to analyze problems, seek solutions, collaborate for change and advocate for society through advancements in technology and science.
Admission decisions to a College of Engineering graduate program is the responsibility of the faculty on the Engineering Graduate Studies or Admissions Committee. Admissions committees across the college are implementing best practices in comprehensive review—meaning faculty are using both qualitative and quantitative information from applications to make holistic decisions that do not solely rely upon GPA and GRE* scores.
Common Admissions Criteria:
- Online application questionnaire
- Statement of Purpose (look for specific prompts)
- Letters of Recommendation (3)
- Resume or Curriculum vitae
- Proof of English Proficiency (international applicants only)
- Check for program specific requirements (writing sample, portfolio, etc.)
*GRE not required for any program with the College of Engineering.
