Support the Project

While state and university funds will cover the lion’s share of construction expenses, philanthropy is critical for the BMEC vision to materialize. The desire for innovations that improve our world and the demand for talented individuals to drive those innovations will not diminish. With help from generous donors and industry partners, Ohio State can accept the responsibility to deliver the technology and talent to solve the world’s most pressing challenges.

Phase One of the Biomedical and Material Science Complex, the Mars G. Fontana Laboratories, opened in the fall of 2020 and provides a globally leading learning and research facility, promising to set new standards of excellence and raising the national and international profile of Ohio State Engineering. Phase Two will serve as the Gateway to Engineering, further expanding BMEC’s advanced materials focus by leveraging the collaboration between Engineering and Medicine focused on discovery and innovation to tackle global health challenges.

Whether you’re an individual seeking to make a legacy gift, a corporate or industry partner interested in naming a space within the complex, or one of thousands of the College of Engineering’s dedicated alumni who support the college’s top giving priorities—we are honored that you are considering a gift to complete the Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex.
