Time & Change Campaign: Student Success
Goal: $90 million
Helping students succeed in earning their degree and launching a career is at the very core of the College of Engineering’s mission. Securing philanthropic gifts that directly support our students through scholarships and fellowships, as well as recruitment and retention of exceptional faculty, is key to the impact the college seeks as a result of this campaign.
Undergraduate Scholarships and Graduate Fellowships
Goal: $60 million
Providing financial assistance for deserving as well as disadvantaged students remains a top college priority. It is the single most impactful way one can make a direct difference in the life and success of a student. The availability of financial assistance can also be critical to increasing accessibility and convincing talented and deserving students to choose Ohio State. Currently about one in five engineering undergraduates receives a donor-funded scholarship.
Increasing scholarships for undergraduates and fellowships for graduate students, especially those that champion diversity and inclusion, will serve to improve the quality and retention of students enrolled in the College of Engineering.
Faculty Talent
Goal: $30 million
Optimizing student learning requires teaching and research excellence, and the competition is brisk to attract talented faculty who enable the best possible curriculum delivery. Funding new chairs and professorships for both distinguished tenured faculty and rising new academic stars, respectively, will help Ohio State Engineering build an unrivaled roster of teaching talent. This in turn will drive the quality and quantity of research, a significant factor in reputation and rankings for the college.
