Racial and Social Justice Curriculum Task Force

Purpose

In response to issues of racism in society and our classrooms coming to the fore, the college will convene a task force to work on curricular responses.

Charge

With representation from all programs, the task force will brainstorm, research, and share ideas for addressing these issues with curricular elements.  A broad array of elements will be open for discussion ranging from assignments, modules or lectures to full courses.  All components of the required curriculum will be on the table including pre-requisites, major courses, electives, and general education requirements. The task force will also focus on enhancing the learning experiences that promote diversity competence in curricular activities. They will be supported through this effort by Lisa Barclay and David Tomasko to help prepare the ideas for implementation by curriculum committees as needed.
