Renee Pelan is the Program Manager in the Community, Access, Retention and Empowerment Office (CARE). She focuses on program assessments within the DOI office, as well as managing the Academic Coaching in Engineering (ACE) program which gives students the opportunity to work on study skills and mastering course materials with student academic coaches to build a better understanding through the use of metacognitive strategies. Renee teaches ENGR 1195.02 which focuses on professional development, visiting engineering sites to learn about engineering applications, and pairing students with professional mentors in industry to explore career paths and learn more about the experiences their mentors have had in industry. Renee will be a resident a director for the Japanese American Design Experience (JADE) program in May of 2024. Renee also serves as an advisor to OSU's Beta Chapter of the Phi Sigma Rho.
Renee completed her M.S. degree in Industrial & Human Factors Engineering and a B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Wright State University.
