Biography

Myia Batie joined the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) in April 2016 and works as a Development Analyst assisting with the underwriting and closing of affordable housing investments.  Prior to joining OCCH, Batie worked as the Program and Policy Manager in the Office of Planning, Preservation and Development at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency where she was responsible for planning and policy development across the multifamily housing development programs including the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, Housing Development Assistance Programs, Housing Development Loan Program and Multifamily Bond Program.  Prior to her role as Program and Policy Manager, Batie worked in the Office of Affordable Housing Research, also with the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, where she led strategic planning and performance measurement processes for the Agency.  Batie holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University, and was a 2011 L. Douglas Wilder Graduate Fellow with the Virginia Housing Development Authority in partnership with the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.  Batie is a member of the American Planning Association, is certified as a Housing Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council, and was recognized as a 2018 Young Leader by Affordable Housing Finance Magazine.
