Iman Ansari is an architectural and urban designer, historian, and educator. He is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the Knowlton School and a founding principal of AN.ONYMOUS. Their work has been published widely, has been recognized by multiple national and international awards, and has been exhibited at international venues such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Hammer Museum, the A+D Museum, MoMA PS1, the European Centre for Architecture, and as a part of the permanent design collection at the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

Ansari’s scholarly research focuses on architecture’s interactions with science, technology, and medicine in the modern era, looking specifically at the history of building technologies, codes and regulations, and standards of health and safety. He has contributed to multiple books and edited volumes on architectural history and theory, landscape architecture and urbanism. His writings have appeared in Architectural Review, Architectural Theory Review, Architect’s Newspaper, Cabinet, Journal for the Society of Architectural Historians, Log, Metropolis, Places Journal, Room One Thousand, and Thresholds among others. 

Ansari has been a TEDx speaker and has lectured at institutions across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. he holds a PhD in Architecture from UCLA, a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the City College of the City University of New York.
