Biography

Md Mohsinur Rahman Adnan obtained his bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2016 and his masters degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in 2019. He started his career as a Lecturer of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology back in 2016, where he is currently an Assistant Professor (on leave).  At OSU, Adnan works under supervision of Prof. Roberto C Myers and Prof. Enam A Chowdhury for his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He started his journey towards Ph.D. back in Fall of 2019 and hopes to graduate by Summer of 2024.

News:
October 2021: Adnan has been awarded the Graduate School's Louis B. Vetter Award, sponsored by the Ohio State chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi through a gift to the Graduate School. This is a prestigious award that is competitively awarded every year to the graduate students at The Ohio State University based on their outstanding academic achievements. As the awardee of school year 2021-2022, he won a one time scholarship of 1500 USD. He has also been offered financial aid in form of tuition waiver to continue his studies for the year i.e. Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022.

April 2022: Adnan received ENGIE-Axium Curricular Practical Training Scholarship for Summer 2022 terms. This is an award for underfunded graduate engineering student working on energy/ sustainability related research. Adnan has been awarded by nomination through the department of ECE to the Graduate School of The Ohio State University.

September 2022: Adnan became a finalist (top 15) in the Americas region of 2022 Edmund Optics Educational Award. As a finalist Edmund Optics provided him with $500 in FREE Optics, TECHSPEC® Mechanics, and/or TECHSPEC® Imaging components of his choosing to support his research.

March 2023: Adnan passed his Ph.D. Candidacy Examination with proposed research topic "Probing Exciton Physics in Wide Bandgap Materials to Understand Absorption and Photoresponsivity Behavior with Applications."
