Engineering Education Professor Rick Freuler has been named a fellow of the American Society for Engineering Education. He also is director of the Fundamentals of Engineering for Honors program.

ASEE is a nonprofit organization committed to furthering education in engineering and engineering technology.

The fellow designation, which is only conferred on one-tenth of 1 percent of the ASEE membership each year, is presented to those with outstanding qualifications and experiences in engineering and related fields. To gain this distinction, Freuler was nominated by ASEE members and evaluated by the ASEE Fellow Member Committee.

An alumnus who earned four engineering degrees from Ohio State, Freuler will be honored at the upcoming 2018 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition in Salt Lake City on June 27.
