It is common knowledge on campus that Computer Science and Engineering Professor DK Panda is among the world's leading supercomputer scholars. Now the high-performance computing (HPC) world knows it, if they didn't already. This week, insideHPC featured Prof. Panda in its "Rock Stars of HPC" series, including a print and video interview.

A world leader in research on high-performance and scalable communication in parallel and high-end computing systems, Panda received a 2015 University Distinguished Scholar Award.

At the Supercomputing ’16 Conference, it was revealed that the MVAPICH software—designed by Panda and his team—is powering the world's fastest computer, the Sunway TaihuLight at China's National Supercomputing Center.
