Over the next two years, The Ohio State University's ElectroScience Laboratory (ESL) will work alongside Applied Radar on developing and testing a multichannel digital receiver/exciter for phased-array antenna systems with funding from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD).

Applied Radar received the $1.4 million Small Business Innovation Research contract from DOD.

The company is based in Rhode Island, where the Providence Business News first reported on the news in this article.

In the article, Applied Radar CEO William Weedon said the project joins years of his company’s SBIR-funded research and development in this type of technology with one of the nation’s “premier” electrical engineering research institutions.
