Online grad degrees rank in nation's top 20
The Ohio State University College of Engineering is ranked 19th in U.S. News & World Report’s new nationwide assessment of online graduate programs.
The College of Engineering offers two online degrees, a Master of Science in Welding Engineering from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and a Master of Global Engineering Leadership.
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering began teaching online courses during the 1998-99 academic year. The online welding master’s program launched in 2003. Course activities, materials and interactions are hosted on Carmen, Ohio State’s online learning management system, and CarmenConnect, the university’s version of Adobe Connect.
Launched in summer 2014, the Master of Global Engineering Leadership is a professional degree for practicing engineers who want to enhance their management acumen, leadership skills and technical expertise to succeed in business. The online degree can be completed in 16 to 28 months.
