Engineering Joins Ohio State Colleges in Regenerative Medicine Center

Posted:

The College of Engineering is one of seven colleges at Ohio State with experts working together to discover novel treatments to accelerate wound healing and rehabilitation for patients.

Ohio State’s Center for Regenerative Medicine and Cell-Based Therapies was created to further develop the research programs in these respective fields. The core mission of the center is to productively engage related expertise in the local community, both inside as well outside Ohio State, and to deliver innovative health care solutions through multidisciplinary partnerships.

The center is a collaboration of the Colleges of Medicine, Engineering, Dentistry, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Arts and Sciences, and Pharmacy. Battelle, the world’s largest, independent research and development organization, also is a partner.

Chandan Sen, associate dean for translational and applied research in the College of Medicine, is director of the new center.

Richard Hart, chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, is a tissue engineering lead researcher at the center.
