Rizzoni to Attend Pres. Obama's Address to Joint Session of Congress

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, Dr. Giorgio Rizzoni, director of The Ohio State University’s Center for Automotive Research (CAR), will attend President Barack Obama’s address to the joint session of Congress as a guest of Congresswoman Mary Jo Kilroy. Rizzoni and his team have focused their efforts developing technology towards new batteries that could revolutionize the American auto industry and increase manufacturing in Ohio.

“My focus in Congress is to create jobs for central Ohio. Dr. Rizzoni and the Center for Automotive Research at Ohio State have created an incubator for new technology that can put people to work and create our economic future,” Kilroy said. “The American Recovery and Reinvestment act dedicated more than $2 billion to this important research. It is an honor to highlight Dr. Rizzoni’s important work that could provide prosperity for Ohio’s future.”

CAR is one of the leading research institutions in the country for new energy developments and has generated effective partnerships with innovative companies in the Columbus area.
