Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
Specialization is accomplished through the series of three final year electives and participation in research projects in fluid mechanics, propulsion, structures and materials, and control theory. Emphases are made on viscous flows, real gas and rarefaction effects, combustion, plasma physics, turbomachinery, structural analysis and design, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, stability and control of flight vehicles, and orbital mechanics.
Research by faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students provides stimulation for the academic program. The department staff is actively engaged in basic and applied research in aerodynamics, structures and materials, flight propulsion, control theory, design, theoretical and computational fluid mechanics and turbulent flows.
