Peer Mentees

Peer mentees are first-year graduate students in the College of Engineering who are looking for guidance as they transition into graduate studies at Ohio State. Mentees are committed to learning about resources and opportunities from their mentor and want to grow their peer network. 

Eligibility and expectations:

  • New master’s or doctoral graduate in the College of Engineering
  • Meet with your mentor at least twice a month (virtual or in-person)
  • Prepare for meetings with agenda topics and questions
  • Attend GUIDE program orientation and end of year event
  • Complete program check-in and feedback surveys (2 total)

Calendar

  • June - July: Complete the interest form (this takes approximately 3-5 minutes)
    Behind the scenes the Office of Graduate Education will match you with a mentor based on your degree level and program
  • Late July: Virtual introductions will be made by the Office of Graduate Education via email
  • August: Review peer mentee materials sent by Office of Graduate Education and join the virtual mentoring orientation
  • August – April: Prepare for and meet with your mentor at least twice each month
