Alumni Mentees

The Alumni Mentoring Program enables current graduate students (master’s or PhD) in the College of Engineering to explore future career opportunities and gain professional insight as they consider career paths and job placement after graduation. Mentees are invested in growing professionally and are open to learning new skills and expanding their professional network.

Eligibility and expectations:

  • Current master’s or doctoral graduate in the College of Engineering
  • Have an interest in learning from an alumni’s experience and expertise
  • Meet with your mentor at least once a month (virtual or in-person)
  • Prepare for monthly meeting with agenda topics and questions
  • Attend GUIDE program orientation and end of year event
  • Complete program check-in and feedback surveys (2 total)

Calendar

  • June - July: Complete the interest form (this takes approximately 3-5 minutes).
    Behind the scenes, the Office of Graduate Education will match you with a mentor based on your professional or industry interest.
  • Late July: Virtual introductions will be made by the Office of Graduate Education via email.
  • August: Review alumni mentee materials sent by Office of Graduate Education and join the virtual mentoring orientation.
  • August – April: Prepare for and meet with your mentor at least once monthly.
