New Year, New Career: What to Do When It’s Time for a Change

How do you know when it’s time to make a career change? And where do you begin, whether it’s a different role with your current organization or something entirely new? Join us as moderator Marilyn Bury Rice, director of the Lhota Office of Alumni Career Management, helps you identify the skills you bring to the employment market and how to utilize those skills to make your transition. And most importantly, learn practical ways to stand out to potential employers in the process. This networking reception and informal conversation will feature real-world examples from local alumni just like you. Heavy appetizers and a beer and wine bar provided.

Featured Alumni:

  • Julia Kraeger, Director of Communications and Engagement, Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program (MA ’06, arts policy & administration)
  • Nicholas McMurray, Materials Engineer at U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (BS ’12, materials science and engineering)
  • Chris Parrett, Mission Director at U.S. Army GEOINT Battalion (BS '98, computer engineering)
