Airport Open House & 5K on the Runway

Saturday full of fun and learning at The Ohio State University Airport at Don Scott Field

To highlight its contributions to both the flying and non-flying public, The Ohio State University Airport will host a free Open House on Oct. 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for central Ohio residents. In conjunction with the open house, the Don Scott Trot, a 5K on the airport runway, will take place early that morning.

The Open House will feature free Young Eagles flights for kids, classic and modern aircraft and trucks on display, flight simulators, door prizes, as well as tethered hot air balloon rides, helicopter introductory flight lessons and bi-plane rides available for purchase. Food trucks from the Columbus area will offer some of the best food in Columbus from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

A unique experience for casual and avid runners alike, the Don Scott Trot 5K on the Runway will begin at 7:30 a.m.
