The College of Engineering is committed to engaging students, faculty and staff to positively impact engineering career awareness and preparation in K-12 education, especially among underrepresented students and communities.

Summer Institute (SI) is the Ohio Supercomputer Center's two-week residential program where gifted high school students learn through project-based, hands-on experiences. Working in small teams, students use OSC's supercomputers to solve complex science and engineering problems, catch hackers using network forensics, study the spread of the bird flu, design computer games and more.

Young Women’s Summer Institute (YWSI) is a week-long program sponsored by the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) for middle school girls in Ohio. Designed to provide hands-on experience with computers, math, science and engineering, YWSI helps girls develop an interest in these subjects by allowing them to work on practical, interesting scientific problems using the latest computer technology.

STEM Summer Camp for High School Students is a week long day camp that focuses on a broad sampling of relevant science and engineering topics. Camp attendees will experience multidisciplinary projects working with Ohio State Marion faculty in math, chemistry, biology, physics, and engineering.

Stone Lab offers one-week courses where students study aquatic biology, oceanography, conservation, and local biology. Students reside on-site.

Beyond the Classroom - Girls Exploring Math program invites young women in middle and high school to experience mathematics through engaging activities in an untraditional environment, led by a staff of enthusiastic math professionals.

Data Science For Women Summer Camp - The Translational Data Analytics Institute hosts a free summer camp designed for students in rising grades 7, 8, and 9 to explore data science and analytics. It’s an exciting, fast-growing field centered on scientific methods and processes for extracting new knowledge from data. Students who learn these skills can combine them with an unimaginably wide range of interests, from business and biology to health care and education, to city planning and social services.

Summer Camp for High School Students Interested in Medicine - MD Camp, sponsored by The Ohio State University Area Health Education Center, is an intensive, three-week summer day camp providing participants an experience in the rigors of medical school. MD Camp students will have the opportunity to shadow clinicians and researchers at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. By the end of MD Camp, students will have a greater grasp of what a career in medicine is like and how to go about becoming a successful physician.

Buckeye Precollege Summer Institute - Launching in summer 2023, Buckeye Precollege Summer Institutes will offer academically ambitious and intellectually curious high school students the opportunity to participate in a two-week residential academic program designed to give them a taste of college life and prepare them for the road ahead.

B-WISER Science Camp - Offers a science camp for current 7th and 8th grade girls who are interested in STEM. Students take a full daily curriculum with classes in earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, robotics and engineering. Campers use campus science labs and stay in Wooster’s college dorms. Financial aid is available for qualifying students.

Classroom Antics Summer Camps - As a leading provider of Columbus Summer Camps in Central Ohio, we know how important it is to make sure summer camps are enjoyable and conveniently located. As a result, we offer multiple weeks of exciting STEM-focused summer camps throughout the Columbus area. These in-person camps are designed for kids and teens ages 6-14.
