Each semester executive board members from ACM-W, NSBE, SASE, SHPE and SWE are invited to participate in the Office of Diversity, Outreach & Inclusion Leaders in Engineering Advancing Diversity retreat. The DOI LEAD Retreat was designed to provide an opportunity for students organization leaders to network, build community and begin planning collaborative programming while learning successful leadership strategies and skills. The mission of ACM-W is to engage students in activities that improve the working and learning environments for women in technology. This is accomplished by mentoring, volunteering, teaching others, and encouraging other women to get involved in CS.
Lambda Psi Honorary is an undergraduate engineering honorary which targets underrepresented minorities within the College of Engineering. The organization’s mission is to promote and achieve the highest level of academic excellence. Activities include professional development workshops, dinner and discussion sessions with faculty, undergraduate research seminars, pre-college outreach events and study sessions.
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) at Ohio State is dedicated to increasing the number of culturally responsible black engineers. Members are encouraged to excel academically, succeed professionally, and make a positive impact upon our community. Activities include study tables, professional development workshops, motivational speaker events, pre-college activities, community service and attending regional and national conferences.
The vision of Phi Sigma Rho is to be the foremost sorority for women in engineering and engineering technology. It fulfills that vision by developing the highest standard of personal integrity and character, promoting academic excellence, supporting personal achievement, and maintaining the bond of sisterhood.
SASE is dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage scientists and engineers in education and employment so that they can achieve their full career potential. In addition to professional development, SASE also encourages members to contribute to the enhancement of the communities in which they live.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is devoted to the promotion and advancement of Hispanic students in engineering, architecture, and other technical sciences. Activities include community outreach events, professional development workshops and regional and national conferences
Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is an international organization focused on stimulating women to achieve their full potential in their careers as engineers and leaders. Ohio State's section of SWE is devoted on providing professional and social events to prepare students for the next step in their lives.
