National American Indian Heritage Month

Point of Interest for November

Welcome to November! November is National Family Caregivers’ Month and National American Indian Heritage Month. As we approach the holiday season, let us remember to do what is necessary to take care of ourselves as both individuals and the larger collective. Be intentional on what you are committed to both learning and unlearning this month. I encourage you to incorporate laughter, peace, and joy into your daily life. Ease is our birthright and our ancestors fought for us to be free.

November 4th is Diwali aka the Hindu New Year. November 11 we honor our Veterans who served in the military. November 19th is International Mom’s Day. Be sure to honor the special woman in your life. November 20th is Transgender Day of Remembrance. We acknowledge the heightened attacks and oppression on the Transgender community. November 25th is Thanksgiving Day. We honor our Indigenous population and appreciate their contributions to this nation prior to violent colonization. Thanksgiving is a time to express thankfulness, gratitude, and gratefulness for all of the blessings we have. If we have learned anything over the past 18 months, it is to not take anything for granted and appreciate each moment as time is precious.
