Ohio State Secures Dow Chemical to Sponsor Global Supply Chain Resilience Research Program
In an age of global turbulence, resilience is a key competency for multi-national corporations. To promote the importance of enterprise-wide resilience and the need for the manufacturing sector to seek constant improvement, The Dow Chemical Company will sponsor a two-year collaborative research project with the Ohio State Center for Resilience, combining resources from the College of Engineering and the Fisher College of Business.
The project, which launched this month, will build upon a new proprietary tool developed by Ohio State, called SCRAM™, an acronym for Supply Chain Resilience Assessment and Management. This tool helps companies understand their supply chain vulnerabilities, such as resource bottlenecks, and the capabilities that they can deploy to improve resilience, such as increased procurement flexibility. The project will help to support Dow’ strategic decision making by linking the SCRAM™ model with quantitative supply chain performance indicators.
