Program Overview
OSTEP’s Summer Bridge Program offers an intensive academic curriculum. Students take math, science, engineering courses as well as a communications course. The program will include workshops that will teach participants how to study, prepare for exams, present themselves professionally, and much more.
In order to successfully complete the Summer Bridge Program, participants must follow the requirements listed below:
- Attendance:
- Students must attend all classes, labs, and professional development activities, arriving on time and not leaving early.
- Supervision:
- Students will be supervised by live-in Resident Advisors and OSTEP staff.
- Participation:
- Students must be respectful, focused and participate in all classroom activities.
- Academic Performance:
- The courses will be graded.
- Behavior:
- Students must follow OSU’s Code of Student Conduct
or be subjected to dismissal from the program.
Courses
Math, Integrated Science, Introduction to Engineering (Visualization), and Communications (English/writing).
Fees
There is no charge for the Summer Bridge Program. However, participants will need to bring some personal spending money (laundry, entertainment, etc.).
All housing and meals are paid for by the program.
Student Health Services
Once the final selection of summer program participants are made the first week of June, students and their parents will be e-mailed a Student Health Services form to complete and return to OSU. Student Health Services is a campus facility that provides any acute health care services and other outpatient services that a participant may need during the summer and the rest of the school year.
