Can I change my major at Orientation?

Yes.
You can change your major at Orientation or at any other time. Your advisor can help you get your major changed.

What if I don’t know what area of Engineering I want my major to be?

You can start out as Engineering Undeclared and choose your major later. Since Engineering students take the same kinds of courses in the beginning, it doesn’t hold you back academically to begin as Undeclared.

How do I get credit for PSEO and/or AP credit?

  1. For PSEO credit, request that an official transcript be sent from the college where you took the course(s) to the OSU Admissions Office.
  2. For AP credit, have an official copy of your AP test scores sent to the OSU Admissions Office.

What is ENG 100?

It is a one credit hour graded course that all Engineering students at the University are required to take during their first quarter of enrollment. It will be taught by your academic advisor and is designed to teach students about the University, the College of Engineering, policies and procedures, resources available, and to help make students’ adjustment to college a little easier.

Do I need to take the Math placement test if I took an AP Math test in high school?

Everyone should take the Math placement test, regardless of whether they took an AP Math test. Students may come to Orientation expecting their AP scores to be here, but for various reasons the results are not yet here. If we don’t have the Math placement test results, we are not able to schedule Math or Science courses during Orientation. If you have received your AP scores, bring them with you to Orientation. If your AP scores place you into a different Math course than the results of your placement test, we will use the test score that places you in the higher math course.
