Buckeye Bullet 2 to be featured on Big Ten Network

Ohio State University’s Buckeye Bullet 2, a hydrogen fuel cell powered streamliner racer that in October traveled faster than any other hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle on record, will be featured on the Big Ten Network’s iMix program six times in November.

During the 2007 World Finals at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, the student-designed and built racer registered 223 mph, the highest speed ever recorded for any vehicle fueled by hydrogen and or powered by fuel cells. The Buckeye Bullet 2, powered by recycled fuel cell stacks donated by Ballard Power Systems, was designed and built from the ground up by Ohio State engineering students and the engineering services of Ballard, Ford Motor Company and Roush.

Big Ten Network officials announced that the segments featuring the Buckeye Bullet 2 will air:

Thursday, Nov. 01 at 5:00 pm
Monday, Nov. 5 at 5:00 am
Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 11:00 am
Thursday, Nov. 22 at 4:30 pm
Monday, Nov. 26 at 4:30 am
Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 10:30 am

The iMix segment follows development of the Buckeye Bullet 2 as the student team built and readied the vehicle for testing, as well as clips of the team racing the vehicle during its recent trips to the Bonneville Salt Flats in August and October.

About the Big Ten Network: The Big Ten Network is a 20-Year joint venture between subsidiaries of the Big Ten Conference and Fox Cable Networks. The network features NCAA-sponsored sports and original programming from each Big Ten institution.
