Washington Named Dean at UC-Irvine

Gregory N. Washington, former interim dean of Ohio State's College of Engineering, has been named dean of engineering at the University of California, Irvine. His new appointment begins Aug. 1.

Washington will lead The Henry Samueli School of Engineering, which is one of 10 schools at the University of California, Irvine. With more than 100 full-time faculty members and an enrollment of approximately 2,600 undergraduate and 750 graduate students, the engineering school has five departments: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
