The 2011 Capstone Design Showcase, a culmination of senior undergraduate capstone design projects from all engineering disciplines, will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. May 26 on campus at the Ohio Union in the Archie M. Griffin East Ballroom. Individual students or student teams will present their projects and selected findings to a team of judges comprised of industry and faculty, and first, second- and third-place winners will be announced.

The Fundamentals of Engineering for Honors Microfluidics Research Competition also takes place during the showcase event. More than 10 first-year engineering student teams have designed and fabricated a silicone polymer microfluidics lab-on-a-chip in order to study the effects of surface features on cell adhesion. Teams display summaries of their projects through poster presentations to judges.
