The Pre-Freshman and Cooperative Education (PREFACE) Program is a five-week summer bridge program designed to help participants make a smooth transition from high school to the university, and to accelerate students’ progress through the first year engineering curriculum.
The PREFACE Advantage:
- Participants become acclimated the rigorous demands of university-level courses, and learn the importance of essential skills, i.e., note taking and time management.
- Participants gain early entry to the campus environment and familiarize themselves with the university environment, as well as get to know administrators, faculty and other pre-freshmen to form a strong network of support.
- Participants, based on their performance, have the opportunity to compete for scholarships and awards.
Following the successful completion of the first year in engineering, the program works closely with OSU engineering research centers and industry partners to give high-performing students an additional career exploration experience in the form of a paid internship.
