Ohio State University is one of the leading doctoral degree granting institutions in the United States. Between 1999 and 2003, Ohio State was ranked eighth in the nation in doctoral degrees granted. For the same period, Ohio State was ranked seventh in the nation in granting doctoral degrees to African American students.

Ohio State's engineering graduate program is ranked 26th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and is ranked within the top 20 public engineering programs, and many of our graduate degree programs are ranked among the best in the nation.

  • Ohio State makes it easy to enhance your graduate degree with a dual or combined program, formal graduate minor, or interdisciplinary specialization.
  • Ohio State attracts students from all around the world. International students represent 26 percent of the total graduate student population and hail from 100 countries.
  • Ohio State offers financial support to high quality graduate students from diverse backgrounds. During the 2004-2005 academic year, nearly 55 percent of graduate students received fellowships or graduate research, teaching and administrative associateships.
  • Ohio State has a vast infrastructure to support graduate education and research at the highest level, and it is one of the top 10 public research universities in the country. In 2005, its total research awards rose to $552.7 million, an increase of 4.7 percent since 2004.
