FE Coursework
First-Year FE Course Sequence:
The Fundamentals of Engineering course sequence is a prerequisite for declaring most engineering majors at OSU. Incoming freshmen take this two-quarter series which broadly introduces the topics of technical graphics, computer aided design, programming in Matlab, engineering design and analysis, project management, ethics in engineering, teamwork and oral and written technical communication. Detailed descriptions of topics and projects covered in the courses are given under the links above.
Transfer FE Course Sequence:
Students transferring to OSU from other schools often have background on some part of the material covered in the Freshman FE Course Sequence. The Transfer FE Course Sequence is therefore designed to make up for those topics under the sequence that have not been previously taken by transfer students. This helps prevent repetition and provides the most relevant information to help such students integrate quickly into their chosen engineering major. Detailed descriptions of topics and projects covered in the courses are given under the links above.
