Academic Programs
The College of Engineering offers each of our students an educational experience that includes not only academics, but also opportunities to develop teamwork and communication skills. These enhancements to the traditional engineering curriculum are often made possible with gift support.
One excellent example of the College's efforts to enrich the student experience aer the Fundamentals of Engineering course sequence. These courses are required for all first year students in the College. Students work in teams, get hands-on experience and learn about all of the majors within the College. Students complete the FE sequence more enthusiastic, more focused and better prepared. The College invested more than $1 million in gift dollars to this curriculum's development and to the renovation and equipping of FE's four teaching labs and two lecture rooms.
The College's academic leadership continues to investigate alternative ways to teach and update existing technology in labs and classrooms. These potential future enhancements will need gift dollars for development, testing and implementation.
Student Support Programs
The College's student support programs contribute to the experience of students as they prepare for their professions. Research Centers
Throughout the College specialized research centers serve as catalysts for technology transfer with industry and government. Most of these centers invite companies to become members and to become more involved with the centers' faculty and student researchers. Click here for a list of research centers.
