Support for Plant
Facilities
Well-equipped and user-friendly classrooms and laboratories enhance teaching and learning, as well as aid in efforts to recruit and to retain the best students and faculty. Keeping facilities running on a pace with technological advances is a continual - but necessary - challenge. The College of Engineering can help students succeed by exposing them to environments similar to what they can expect to experience in the "real" world. Investments are sought throughout the College to endow and to equip teaching and research labs. All offer named opportunities to interested donors.
The College of Engineering has recently completed two major academic facility projects, with the construction of the Knowlton School of Architecture and the Scott Laboratory, home of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The Department of Chemical Engineering is doing preliminary planning for an extensive renovation and a 50% expansion to Koffolt Lab. Questions relating to these major projects should be referred to:
Mechanical Engineering: Les Barnhart
Chemical Engineering and other areas: Dave McCarthy
