Job Description
Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTAs) are needed for the 2006-2007 academic year to assist with Fundamentals of Engineering (FEH), a three course sequence for beginning engineering students.
- Attend all sessions of the course
- Actively assist students in the lab and with development of basic skills in the classroom
- Expected to be attentive to transition issues common to new students
- Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings
- Other duties may be assigned by Faculty, Graduate Teaching Assistants, or other staff
Qualifications
- Successful completion of H191, H192, and H193
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Competence in Engineering Graphics
- Knowledge of EXCEL, MATLAB, Word, PowerPoint, and Autodesk Inventor
- Acceptance as a major in Engineering program or related field at OSU
- Junior status is preferred
- Must be interested in helping beginning students succeed in their first engineering courses.
Working Hours and Compensation
A maximum of 15-20 hours may be available. Salary is $8.50 to start. This position is not recommended if you are already working for OSU.
