Job Description

Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTAs) are needed for the 2006-2007 academic year to assist with Fundamentals of Engineering (FEH), a three course sequence for beginning engineering students.

  • Attend all sessions of the course
  • Actively assist students in the lab and with development of basic skills in the classroom
  • Expected to be attentive to transition issues common to new students
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings
  • Other duties may be assigned by Faculty, Graduate Teaching Assistants, or other staff

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of H191, H192, and H193
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Competence in Engineering Graphics
  • Knowledge of EXCEL, MATLAB, Word, PowerPoint, and Autodesk Inventor
  • Acceptance as a major in Engineering program or related field at OSU
  • Junior status is preferred
  • Must be interested in helping beginning students succeed in their first engineering courses.

Working Hours and Compensation

A maximum of 15-20 hours may be available. Salary is $8.50 to start. This position is not recommended if you are already working for OSU.
