Engineering Alumni Award Nomination Guidelines

The following topics should be addressed in all nominations for the College of Engineering Alumni Awards. The cover page of all nomination packages should be the "Nomination Form." Use any order or combination of topics from the list below that enhances the strength of your nominee's submittal. Emphasis can be varied to suit the targeted award.

  1. Educational Background
  2. Positions Held (Reverse chronological order)
  3. Specific Achievements
    Include unique inventions; noteworthy technical developments or research accomplishments; unusual contributions which are now widespread practice in that industry; or development of new products, processes, or administrative procedures.
  4. Civic and Community Leadership
    Civic and cultural contributions through non-profit organizations, i.e. Boy Scouts, church groups, etc.
  5. University Relationships
    In what way has the individual supported the University, College, or departmental activities, or alumni organizations, i.e. development of company support, fund raising, scholarships, trips, advisory boards, etc.
  6. Awards Received
    Explanation of significance and timing are helpful.
  7. Technical and Professional Society Memberships
  8. Bibliography
    If extensive, list selective works.
  9. Patents
  10. Other Support Information
    Letters of support from the department chair, other faculty, colleagues or associates are encouraged.
